Which was read and adopted.
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The Senate took up for consideration the House bill autho-
rizing Jas. S. Morsell, Jr, of Calvert county, Wm. B. Hill,
of Prince George's county, and George F. Needham and
Mason L. Weems, to construct a pier at No. 3 Tobacco
Warehouse, Baltimore city.

Said bill being upon the third reading.
Mr. Timmons submitted the following amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend by adding in the 7th line of the second section,
after the word "tobacco," and other country produce, other
than cord wood.

And after the word pier in 7th line of second section,

Amend by adding the following words, set apart for the
use of vessels carrying tobacco.

On motion by Mr. Parker,

The further consideration of said bill was postponed until
to-morrow at 12 o'clock.

On motion by Mr. Carroll,
The Senate took a recess until 8 o'clock.

EVENING SESSION.

THURSDAY, March 17, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
