JOINT RESOLUTION.
To remit Colonization Tax levied under chapter 281 of 1831.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
sums standing on the books of the Treasury against the sev-
eral counties of this State, levied for colonization purposes,
under chapter 281 of 1831, be, and the same are hereby re-
mitted, and that all such accounts be stricken from the books
of the Department.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Welch, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
was referred House bill entitled an Act to incorporate
the Harford County Railroad, reported it with the follow-
ing amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Sec. 8, line 12, amend by striking out all after the word
"Company."

Sec. 12, line 32, amend by striking out all after the word
"estate."

Which were read and adopted.
The sections as amended were read and adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time
Also reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Howard
Mutual Life Insurance and Trust Company of Baltimore.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

The House bill entitled an Act to incorporate Towson-
town, in Baltimore county,

Which was read the second time.
Also,

The House bill entitled an Act to add a section to the Act
passed at December session, 1828, chapter 119, entitled a
supplement to the Act entitled an Act to provide for
making the several Turnpike roads, and for the extension of
the charters of the several Banks therein mentioned, report-
ed it without amendment.
Which was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Earle,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the Senate
bill entitled an Act to extend the charter of the Powhatan
Steamboat Company.
