A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mutual Building
Association of Annapolis to construct a bridge from the City
of Annapolis over Spa Creek, in Anne Arundel county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Internal Improvements.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Elkton and Mas-
sey's Railroad Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter
414, entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act to
repeal Article 3, of the Code of Public General Laws, re-
lating to "Militia," and sections 652 to 770, both inclusive,
of Article 4, &c., and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on the Militia.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Acts of 1867
and 1868, allowing and paying pensions to the soldiers of the
war of 1812 and their widows,

Was considered and postponed.
On motion by Mr. Carroll,

The Senate proceeded, to the consideration of the unfinished.
business of yesterday.

The question being upon the adoption of the unfavorable-
report of the Committee on Finance, on the House Joint
Resolutions, in reference to the claim of the State against the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, after debate,

On motion by Mr. Miller,

The further consideration of said Report was postponed
until Tuesday next at 12 o'clock, and made the order of the
day.

Mr. Grove, by unanimous consent, presented the petition
of sundry citizens of Hagerstown and vicinity, irrespective of
party or creed, praying the passage of a law to prohibit the
sale of intoxicating liquor, except for medical, mechanical
and sacramental purposes.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

The President laid before the Senate the following com-
munication from the Comptroller, in response to an order of
the Senate.
