mittee on Corporations.

Also, the Joint Resolutions returning the thanks of the
General Assembly to the Hon. S. Teackle Wallis for the
delivery of his oration on the life' and character of the late
George Peabody.
Which were read the first time, and
On motion by Mr. Carroll,
The rules being suspended,

Were read the second and third time and passed by yeas
and nays, as follows :
AFFIRMATIVE.

Carroll, Stephenson,
Fields, Timmons,
Hyland, Welch
Maddox, Wilson—15.
Malone,
NEGATIVE—None.

Said Resolutions were then returned to the House of Dele-
gates.

And returned the Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the
Act of Public Local Laws, passed February 27th, 1841,
chapter 137, relating to the division lines of the 5th election
district of Baltimore county, and re-enact the same with
amendments,

Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from a Select Com-
mittee, and report adopted."

Mr. Stephenson, from the Select Committee to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to provide for the appoint-
ment of an additional Justice of the Peace, for election dis-
trict No. 4, in Harford county, reported it without amend-
ment.

Mr. Stephenson moved that said bill be read the second
time this day.

The yeas and nays were called as required by section.
27 of Article 3 of the Constitution, and appeared as follows:
