The vote by which the Joint Besolution authorizing the
Comptroller to audit and adjust the claim of the State against
W. G. Burke, late Sheriff, of Harford county, was ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading,
Was reconsidered.

Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment:
Amend by adding at the end of Joint Resolution, that this
Besolution shall go into effect after the date of its passage.
Which was adopted.

Said Resolution, as amended, was then ordered to been-
grossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
lion to Article 77, of the Code of Public General Laws, enti-
tled "Railroads,"

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
By unanimous consent,

Mr. Clarke, from the Select Committee to whom the leave
was granted, reported.

A bill entitled an Act to create an additional Justice of the
Peace for the 11th election district of Baltimore county,
Which was read the first time.

Mr. Clarke moved that said bill be read the second time
this day.

The yeas and nays were called, as required by section 27
of Article 3 of the Constitution, and appeared as follows :

Grove, Stephenson,

So two-thirds of all the Senators elected having voted in
the affirmative, said bill was read the second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Bach-
man's Valley Railroad Company,
Was considered and postponed.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the assess-
ment of property in Wicomico county,
