Which were read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

Mr. Grove, from the Select Committee to whom leave was
granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to protect Ministers
of the Gospel in the discharge of their duties in relation to
marriage.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Malone, from the Select Committee to whom the leave-
was granted, reported a bill entitled a Supplement to an Act
for founding a College at Chestertown.

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Denson,

Leave of absence was granted to Samuel F Greenwald,
folder, from Friday until Monday.

Mr. Clarke, from the Select Committee to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to provide for building a
bridge over the Gunpowder river, at Warren's Factory, in"
Baltimore county,

Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time.
Also,

From the same Committee, to whom was referred House
bill entitled an Act to provide for the erection of a bridge
over the Gunpowder river, at Cromwell's Ford, in Balti-
more county,

Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time.
Also,

From the same Committee, to whom was referred House
bill entitled an Act to provide for the erection of a bridge
over Jones' Falls, at Woodberry, in Baltimore county,

Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time.
By unanimous consent,
Mr. Denson submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal of the
Senate that if the undersigned had been present when the
vote was taken upon the order approving the able manner
in which the Hon. James T. Earle, as Chairman of the
Committee on Finance, has at all times discharged his duty,
