after the word "appeal," in the 19th line to the end of the
section, and insert in lieu thereof the following: Shall have
a right to trial by jury, if demanded, and that either party
shall be permitted to except to the ruling of the Court, and
an appeal to the Court of Appeals, in the same manner as
in other civil cases. Which was adopted. The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.
Mr. Snyder submitted the following amendment : Amend the second section by adding the following at the
end of the section : Provided, however, that when any party
mentioned in this section shall be a married woman, an in-
fant, or a non compos mentis, that then in such cases there-
must be a service in writing upon such married woman, or
her Trustee, if she have one, or upon the guardian of such in-
fant, or upon the committee of such non compos mentis, and
that such service must be made as aforesaid, at least thirty
days before any proceedings shall be had: and that the
same right of appeal is hereby reserved as in cases where the
notice is given by publication as is hereinbefore provided. Which was adopted.
The section, as amended, was then read and adopted. Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be-
engrossed for a third reading. The Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to take charge of and keep in re-
pair all turnpike roads, highways and bridges within the
limits of the city, Being on its second reading,
Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment: Amend by striking out the words "Turnpike Roads"
wherever it occurs in the first section. Which was adopted. The section, as amended, was then adopted.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment : Amend by inserting after the word "bridges" in sixth line,
in conformity with the provisions of the Act of Assembly"
of 1867, chapter 94. Which was adopted.
