Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Earle submitted the following Message.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates:

BY THE SENATE,

Feb. 16,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your Message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Committee, consisting of three on the part of the
House, and two on the part of the Senate, to invite the Hon.
S. Teackle Wallis to repeat his Eulogy on the Life and Char-
acter of George Peabody, in the Hall of the House of Dele-
gates, before the Governor, Court of Appeals and General
Assembly of Maryland, at such time as he shall be pleased to
designate, and heartily concur therein. We have appointed,.
on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Earle and Hyland.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom
was referred the memorial of Miss Purviance, President, and
other ladies, officers and managers of the Union Protestant
Infirmary,

Reported, it unfavorably, and the Report was adopted.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide a new Code of
the Statute Laws of the State and to appropriate a sum of
money for that purpose,

Being upon its third reading,
On motion by Mr. Miller,

The further consideration of said bill was postponed until
Wednesday, the 23rd instant.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 9 of Article
28, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the publi-
cation of county expenses, so far as the same relates to Caro-
line county, and to re-enact the same with amendments,
