Being on the third reading,
On motion by Mr, Timmons,
Two-thirds of the Senate concurring,
The following amendment was adopted :

Amend section 2 by striking out in the 9th line, after the
word "Misdemeanors" to the word "of" in the 10th line,
and insert the following words :

Three dollars and thirty-three and one-third cents.

Provided that this Act shall not take effect until the ex-
piration of the term of the present State's Attorney for Wor-
cester county.

The section as amended was then adopted.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The President of the Senate, and the Senator from Prince
George's were granted leave of absence for several days.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,
The Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, February 14,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. Biggs, Browne, Carroll, Fields, Hyland, Jump,
Kimmel, Maddox, Malone, Miller, Parker, Snyder, Tim-
mons, Welch—14.

The President of the Senate being absent from the Seat of
Government,
On motion by Mr. Hyland,

The Hon. Henry Snyder was elected President pro temore
of the Senate.

The Journal of Saturday was read and approved.
On motion by Mr. Parker,

Leave was granted to Senators Parker, Hyland and Mad-
dox to introduce a bill to regulate the time of catching oys-
ters in the Patuxent river.

On motion by Mr. Malone,
