On motion by Mr. Henry,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to repeal section two, of Article forty-
nine, of the Code of Public General Laws, title, "Joint Ob-
ligations and Joint Tenancy," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

On motion by Mr. Stephenson, it was

Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury report to
the Senate the amount of money, if any, paid. to the Inspec-
tors of Tobacco for the past two years from the Treasury
proper, in excess of the sum received into the Treasury from
said Inspectors on account of inspections of Tobacco.

Mr. Kimmel submitted the following order:

Ordered, That a committee of five be appointed by the
President, with instructions to ascertain and report what
measures, if any, are necessary to save harmless those inter-
ests connected with or dependent upon the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company, in case the General Assembly di-
rect the institution of proceedings by writ of scire facias
against said Company, and said proceedings result in the
forfeiture of its charter.

Mr. Grove moved that the order be laid upon the table.
Mr. Grove withdrew his motion,

Mr. Kimmel moved that the order be postponed and made
the order of the day for Tuesday next, at 1 o'clock.

Mr. Snyder demanded the yeas and nays.
On the question being put,
It was determined in the negative.
