Mr. Earle submitted the following amendment :

Amend section 2 by striking out all after the word " that,"
in the first line, to the word " in," in the 6th line.

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Earle,
The rules were suspended in order to re-engross said bill.

Said bill was then ordered to be engrossed for a third
reading.

The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Gov. Bowie, by the hands of R. C. Hollyday, Esq.,
Secretary of State, endorsed, " On Executive Business."

The Senate bill, entitled an Act to authorize the Adjutant
General to furnish Arms for the use of the Agricultural Col-
lege,
Being upon its third reading,

Mr. Fields moved that said bill be postponed until Wed-
nesday next.

Mr. Henkle moved to amend by postponing until Friday
next.

On the question being put, it was determined in the nega-
tive by yeas and nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.
Mr. Henkle—1.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Browne, Parker,
Earle, Sellman,
Fields, Snyder,
Henry, Spates,
Jump, Stephenson,
Malone, Timmons,
Miller, Welch—14.

The question then recurred upon the motion submitted by
Mr. Fields, audit was determined in the affirmative.

On motion by Mr. Timmons, and by unanimous consent,
it was

Ordered, That the Adjutant General inform the Senate if
he can furnish the Students of the Agricultural College with
one hundred stand of suitable Arms out of the State's Ar-
mory, for the use of said Students at said College, and order
the said Adjutant General to report in three days from to-
day.
The Senate adjourned.
