The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize Joshua and Motter,
or either of them, to convey all the right,
title, interest and claim of the German Reformed Congrega-
tion at Emmittsburg, &c.,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to direct the Attorney
General of this State to cause the State of Maryland to be, by
proper proceedings, made a party in a cause now pending in
the Circuit Court of Baltimore city, entitled "The Common-
wealth of Virginia versus the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal
Company and others," and to appear for this State insaid
cause and for other purposes,

Being upon its third reading, was,

On motion by Mr. Earle, postponed until Tuesday next,
February lst.

The Senate bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to furnish the Governor's Mansion, and appoint a
Committee to superintend and control the disbursement of
the same, and the purchase of the furniture,

Was read the third time and rejected for want of a Consti-
tutional majority, by yeas and nays, as follows :

Karle, Spates,
Grove, Stephenson,
Henkle, Welch—11.
Henry,

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Fields, Malone,

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Said bill was reconsidered, anil made the order of the day
for Wednesday next, at 1 o'clock.

Mr. Stephenson, by unanimous consent., presented the
memorial of 116 citizens of Harford county, for the better
protection of Wild Fowl in the Chesapeake Bay and its
Tributaries.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

The Senate bill, entitled an Act for the benefit, of the
