Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

The bill entitled an Act to refund to Alexander Brown &
Sons, of the City of Baltimore, agents of Brown, Shipley &
Co., of London, the sum of fifty-eight pounds, sixteen shil-
lings and ten pence in gold, amounting in currency to four
hundred dollars and ninety cents, for money erroneously
paid by them into the Treasury, on or about the first of
July, 1867,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Mr. Stephenson made the point of order that said bill had
been before the Engrossing Committee.

The President decided that the point was well taken.

The President laid before the Senate the following com-
munication from the Comptroller.
