Mr. Malone presented the petition of Isaac Brewington
and 100 other citizens of Wicomico county, asking for pro-
tection to oysters in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr Henkle submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

January 19,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received the message of your Honorable Body,
proposing to proceed to count the ballots cast yesterday for
State Treasurer, and concur therein.

By order,
AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Del-
egates.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, to introduce a bill to amend the 98th
Article of the Code of Public General Laws; so far as the
same relates to the shooting of ducks and other wild fowl
from boats, &c., in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.

On motion by Mr. Fields,

Leave was granted the Committee on Agriculture to intro-
duce a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section seven, Article 4,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Guano," and to re-
enact the same in the following amended form.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to Senators Clarke, Biggs and Miller,
to introduce a bill to empower the County Commissioners of
Baltimore county to sell and convey the 5 per cent. bonds of
Baltimore city, held by Baltimore county.

On motion by Mr. Clark,

Leave was granted to Senators Clarke, Biggs and Miller,
to introduce a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of
Baltimore county to dispose of all Turnpike stocks held by
Baltimore county.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section one of Article
twenty-two of the Public Local Laws, relating to the Alms
House in Worcester county,

Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Timmons submitted the following amendment:
