JOURNAL.

ANNAPOLIS, January 5th, 1870.

in conformity with the requirement of the Constitution,
the Senators and Senators elect assembled in the Senate
Chamber this day.

At 12 o'clock, M., Augustus Gassaway, Secretary of the
late Senate, proceeded to call the roll, when the following
Senators answered to their names :

Anne Arundel County—Eli J. Henkle.
Balto. City—

" " 3rd Legislative District—Isaac M. Denson.
Baltimore County—James C. Clarke.
Calvert County—John C. Parker.
Frederick County—Joshua Biggs.
Howard County—John Lee Carroll.
Kent County—William Welch.

Queen Anne's County—James T. Earle.
Somerset County—O. H. Hyland.
Wicomico County—Lemuel Malone.
Washington County—J. H. Grove.

The following Senators elect also answered to their names :

Allegany County—Alfred Spates.
Balto. City—

Caroline County—Daniel Fields.
Cecil County—John M. Miller.
