1870.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to amend an Act passed at the January session,
1867, chapter 219, entitled an Act to incorporate the Monu-
mental Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore, and to change
the name of said Corporation, and to enlarge its powers.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to add an additional section to the Public
General Laws, securing the landlord for any advances made
by him to a tenant.

On motion of Mr. Ritter,

Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to report a
bill to amend the Charter of the Liberty and Johnsville
Turnpike Company, in Frederick county.

On motion of Mr. Cooper,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation, 1st
Legislative District, to introduce a bill to repeal sections
791 and 792, of Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws
for Baltimore city, sub-title '' Parks," and re-enact the
same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Wiley,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to in-
troduce a bill, making the carrying of concealed weapons,
in Baltimore city, a penal offence.

On motion of Mr. Sanner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill, constituting eight hours a day's work for all
laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed by the State of
Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Standish,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to make valid a deed from John Davis, of
West Virginia, to Mrs. Clipstine, of Maryland.

Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, (the rules being suspend-
ed,) submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the order referring the Report of the Mary-
land Agricultural College to the Committee on Agriculture
be rescinded, and that it be referred to the Committee on
Education,

Which was adopted.

Mr. Blake, Chairman of the Committee on Public Build-
ings, submitted the following unfavorable
