So the motion to reconsider was decided in the negative,

The question then recurring upon concurring in the'motion
submitted by Mr. Merrick,
It was determined in the affirmative.

And the House refused to concur in the message from the
Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills.

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of sixty-
nine thousand two hundred and ninety-six dollars and twen-
ty-eight cents, to pay the various mechanics and others the
amounts due them for work and labor done, and materials
furnished in the erection of the Governor's Mansion, at An-
napolis, and the enclosure and improvement of the grounds
surrounding the same,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the
General Assembly to the bequest of David Smith, late of
Worcester county, deceased, to the committee of Pitt's Creek
Church, in said county,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeaa and nays."
Also,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 139, 140, 141,
142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148, of the Code of Public
Local Laws for Somerset county, relating to retailers, and to
re-enact the same with amendments,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also,

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of the Sweetzer Bridge
Company and Richard S. Stewart, and authorizing the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to correct the errors
in the assessment of their property,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
