Chapter 8, section 4, strike out all after the word "county,"
in 3d line to the word "they" in 4th line.

Section 2 chapter 9, Provided that an appeal shall lie to
the Board*f County School Commissioners, whose decision
shall be final.

Chapter 10,section 3, strike out all after the word "coun-
ty," in line 2, to the word "provided," in line 63, and insert:
wader such regulations as the Board of County School Com-
missioners may adopl.

Printed copy, strike out all after "nevertheless," in 6th
line, to "and," in 8th line, and insert: that parents or pupils
may purchase their own books whenever they may prefer.

Chapter 10, section 3, line 5, after the word "pupil," in-
sert: on account of pecuniary inability.

Amend section 3, chapter 10, by striking out all after the
word "books," in line 8.

Chapter 11, section 1," after the word "qualified," in line
4, insert: under the sanction of the Board at its next meet-
ing-

Chapter 11, section 5, strikeout all after the word "Teach-
ers," in second line to the word "of," in the same line, and
insert: at each quarterly meeting, and at such other times as
the Board may direct.

Chapter 11, amend section 5, by adding the following: no
Examiner shall be allowed to charge any fees for the issuing
of certificates to teachers, and if any Examiner shall be found
guilty of charging or receiving any fee or reward, directly or
indirectly, for issuing any certificate to a teacher, he shall be
dismissed from office.

Chapter 11, line 3, after the word "Commissioners," in-
sert: or one or more of the District School Commissioners.

Chapter 12, section 1, insert in line 5, after word "per
annum," the Principal of the Normal School, shall not vote
upon the subject of his appointment or removal.

Chapter 12, section 8, line 1, strikeout the word "eight,"
and insert in lieu thereof the word: 9500.

Add as chapter 12, "Teacher's Association," section 1,
District, County and State Teacher's Associations, are recom-
mended as an important means of elevating the standard of
public education, by mutual conference, interchange of views-
and suggestions as to systems of teaching and discipline.

Sections 2 and 3 of printed bill retained.
