The bill entitled an Act to repeal the 7th and 8th sections
of an Act, to incorporate the Baltimore Permanent Building
and Land Society, passed at January session 1867, chapter
358,

Endorsed, ''Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend the Act passed the
30th day of March 1868, chapter 406,,entitled an Act to re-
peal the Act passed the 23rd of March 1867, chapter 184,
entitled an Act to repeal Article 71 of the Code of Public
General Laws in the State of Maryland, entitled "Oysters."
and to re-enact the same with amendments, by adding the
following sections thereto,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, to
whom had been re-committed the bill entitled an Act to
appropriate the sum of twenty-five thousand nine hundred
and forty-four dollars and sixty cents, to pay the various
mechanics and others, the amounts due them for work and
labor done, and materials furnished for the construction of
an Iron Steam Vessel for the State of Maryland, for the use
of the Oyster Police Force, reported back the same with pro-
posed amendments.

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

WHEREAS, an iron steam vessel has been constructed for
and delivered to the State of Maryland for the use of the
State Oyster Police Force ; and whereas there remains due
and unpaid on account of such vessel, to various persons, sun-
dry large sums of money, to wit: to William F. Shaw & Co.,
Lewis Wagner, Randolph Bra. & Co., William C. Wether-
all, G. Dungan & Co... James H. King, Thomas Clark &
Bro., R. Wilkins, J. Cromwell, J. G. Ramsey & Co., J.
Bumbeck, D. Rogers, Adam Nagle, Joseph Osbourne, and
others, mechanics and persons who have furnished material
or labor for the construction of said vessel; and whereas the
said parties were entitled to liens on said vessel for their said
claims, and to have said vessel sold in satisfaction thereof,
but waived such, remedy and delivered such vessel to the offi-
cers of the State, by whom she is at present used in enforcing
the laws and collecting the revenue of the State ; and whereas
it is just and proper that such claims be paid; therefore,

Section 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller be, and he hereby is authorized
