Said bill was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Martin,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to lepeal section 535, Article 4, Code of Public
Local Laws for the City of Baltimore, sub-title "Tobacco,"
and to enact a substitute therefor.

Pending the further consideration of said bill,
On motion of Mr. Martin,

The bill was recommitted to the Select Committee on State
Tobacco Warehc uses.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
(the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Newtown
Gas Light Company, with proposed amendments.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out of section 4, from the word "Provided," in Hue
12, to "thereby " in line 13 inclusive, and insert in lieu
thereof the following :

Under such rules and regulations as shall be prescribed by
the corporate aul horities thereof.

Which was ac opted.

And the bill, as amended, read a second time.

Also, reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Wesley
Mutual Life Insurance Company of Baltimore, without amend-
ment.

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Caroline, Chairman of a Select Commit-
tee, reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 9, of Arti-
cle 28, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the
publication of county expenses so far as relates to Caroline
