Which was adopted.

The Speaker laid before the House the memorial of
Board of Trade of Baltimore city, remonstrating against the
passage of an Act increasing the passenger tax on emigrants,
and establishing an emigrant depot.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Immi-
gration.

Mr. Hoblitzell presented the memorial of the German So-
ciety, protesting against the passage of the Immigration bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Immi-
gration.

Mr. Cameron presented the petition of Nicholas Jones,
Henry Miller, John Dugan, and 75 others, against any
change in the law in regard to stock running at large in
Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee oa Corporations,
reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Penin-
sula Railroad Company of the Eastern Shore of Maryland,
without amendment.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Meekins submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1. Strike out the name of Tilghman Hackett and
insert the name of William S. Sherman.

The amendment was adopted, and the bill, as amended,
read a second time.

Mr. Markland, Chairman of the Select Committee on Wild
Fowl, reported the Senate bill entitled an Act to protect fish,
and Wild fowl in the waters of Queen Anne's, Kent and Har-
ford counties, without amendment.

Which was read a second time.
