The bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1860, chapter
265, entitled an Act to incorporate the Consolidation Coal
Company,
Being upon a third reading,
Mr. Gorman submitted the following amendment:
Add as section 2, And be it enacted, That the said Consoli-
dation Coal Company shall not be permitted to purchase,
build, construct, equip, or subscribe to the capital stock of
any railroad, other than such railroad as may be required for
their business within the county of Allegany, and which
shall connect with, some railroad now constructed in said
county, excepting the Western Maryland Railroad Extension,
Company.
Which was adopted.
