1132 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 30,

Mr. Jordan submitted the following amendment:
Section 115, in line 2.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

After the word "exceeding," strike out "twenty-five" and
insert fifteen, at the end of same section after the word
"thereof" in line 3, add, provided that all Bank stock shall
be exempt from taxation by the Corporation, and provided
further, that one-third of said levy shall be applied to light-
ing up the said city with gas.

The amendment was adopted.

And the bill, as amended, ordered to be engrossed, and
having been engrossed,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
