third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to require all persons peddling or
selling carriages not manufactured in this State, in Frederick
county, to take out a license therefor,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to endorse the first mortgage bonds of
the Lynchburg and Danville Railroad Company to the amount
of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and to submit,
the ordinance providing for such endorsement to the legal
voters of the City of Baltimore,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of birds
in the State of Maryland,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Beck submitted the following amendment:

Add to end of section : Provided, that nothing in this sec-
tion shall apply to Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Cecil, Dor-
chester, Howard, Calvert, Somerset, Worcester and Wicomico
counties.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
