On motion of Mr. Touchstone,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to report a bill to amend section 10,
Article 41, Code of Public General Laws, relating to fish-
eries.
On motion of Mr. Veitch,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal section 59, Article 6, Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, title "Appeals," sub-title ''Appeals from
Justices of the Peace."
On motion of Mr. Owens^
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to
introduce a bill to refund to Thomas Terry, Collector
of the 5th Election district of Cecil county, the sum of
thirty-seven dollars and fifty-one cents, (37.-51,) erroneously
paid into the Treasury for the year 1867.
On motion of Mr> Kean,
Leave was granted to the Allegany county delegation to
introduce a bill entitled, an Act to change the name of the
Mutual Coal Company, of Allegany county, to that of the
Maryland Coal Company, and to confirm a decree of the Cir-
cuit Court for Allegany c6unty, changing said name.
On motion of Mr. Winters,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to place
the name of Mary Burk, widow of John Burk, who served
inthe war of 1812, on the pension list with others.
The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled, aa
Act to authorize the Register of Wills for Howard county,
to examine, perfect and index certain records in his office,
and to authorize and provide for services so rendered.
Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

JOINT RESOLUTIONS,
WHEREAS, The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company
hath committed various acts of misuser and abuser of its
charter and franchises, and hath violated the provisions
of the eighth section of the Act of December session, 1832,
chapter 175; and for the space of eighteen months hath with-
held, and now finally refuses to pay over to the State the just
