1022 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 26,

SATURDAY, March 26, 1870.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by Mr. Ship-
ley, of Baltimore county.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members :

Messrs. Latrobe, (Speaker,) Beck, Wilmer, Baldwin, of
Anne Arundel, Owings, 'Duke, Carroll, Shipley, Gatch,
Choate, Turner, Hammond, Brattan, Lankford, Harrington,
Woolford, Meekins, Touchstone, Owens, Biddle, Marbury,
Duvall, Thomas, of Queen Anne's, Purnell, Bowlus, Mc-
Creery, Ritter, Hopkins, Gare,y, Sanner, Hamilton, Cooper,
Morse, Blake, Webb, "Wilson, of Baltimore city, Wiley,
McLane, Colton, Kirk, Collins, Ehlen, Hoblitzell, Sword,
Veitch, Watkins, Kean, Standish, Myers, Crouse, Crawford,
Gordy—52.

The Speaker laid before the House the Preamble and Reso-
lutions of the Mayor, Recorder and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, in reference to the Baltimore and Drum Point
Railroad.

Which were read and referred to the Anne Arundel dele-
gation.

Mr. Sword submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Mr.
Murdock, is absent from his seat in this House on account of
sickness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Owens submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mr. Richards have leave of absence for two
days.

Which was adopted.
Mr. Brattan submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Hon. Alex. Neill have a leave of ab-
sence until Monday next.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Gatch, (the rules being suspended,)
The House proceeded to tike consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to incorporate the White Hall and Pennsylvania
Line Railroad Company,
