The Governor formed the Maryland Occupational
Safety and Health (MOSH) Task Force in October
1995 The Task Force charge was to recommend
ways to streamline the MOSH Program without
compromising worker safety or confidence

The Task Force studied how MOSH regulations are
integrated into the policies and practices of other
agencies It determined that MOSH should offer
technical assistance to businesses, ensure that
MOSH regulations are consistent with regulatory
policies at other government agencies, eliminate
duplicate regulations and procedures, and use in-
centives to encourage voluntary compliance with
MOSH regulations The Task Force submitted a
final report to the Governor in November 1995

The Governor's Task Force to Reform the State
Personnel Management System was formed by the
Governor in June 1995 (Executive Order
01 01 1995 15) The Task Force reviewed current
law on the State personnel system and recom-
mended ways to streamline and simplify it

The Task Force submitted one report (a final re
port) to the Governor in January 1996

TASK FORCE TO INITIATE
PRESERVATION PLANNING IN MARYLAND
In August 1994, the Task Porce issued its report
entitled Treasures of the Past, Resources for the Fu-
ture A Preservation Plan for Maryland's Library
and Archival Collections

GOVERNOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL ON
PRIVATIZATION IN STATE GOVERNMENT
In May 1995, Council functions were assumed by
the Governor's Council on Management and Pro
ductivity A Public Private Enterprise (Executive
Order 01 01 1995 12)

on Procurement on October 9, 1995 The Task
Force was to study the State procurement process
and build upon the 1994 findings of the Joint Task
Force on Maryland's Procurement I aw

The Governor's Task Force on Procurement issued
an interim report to the Governor on November 21,
1995 A final report is expected on June 1, 1996
