Under the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical
Services Systems, the Joint Aeromedical Committee
was formed m November 1994 by the State Emer
gency Medical Services Board The Committee was
to consider whether the State Police should charge for
aeromedical transports, what the medical role of State
Police helicopters should be within the Statewide
Emergency Medical Services System, and what should
be the configuration for the medical complement on
State Police Medevac helicopters The Committee
submitted its report of recommendations to the
Board in August 1995

Authorized in 1994, the Task Force on Compen-
sation of Child-Care Providers was appointed by
the Governor in June 1995 (Chapter 178, Acts of
1994) The Task Force charge was to study the
salary and compensation levels of licensed child
care providers, and of employees of child day care
centers, including child-care workers, assistants,
teachers, and directors The Task Force also re
viewed federal and State policies that support ade-
quate compensation of child-care providers In
addition, the Task Force considered what the State
pays for care of eligible children, and methods to
educate parents on the need for licensed child care
The Task Force is expected to report to the Gover-
nor and General Assembly by June 30, 1996
