At the request of the General Assembly, the
Governor formed the Task Force on Eating Disor-
ders in October 1986 (Joint Resolution no. 27,
Acts of 1986). After determining to what extent
Marylanders suffer from such eating disorders as
anorexia nervosa and bulimia, the Task Force is
considering how these disorders should be recog-
nized and treated.
The Task Force reported its inital findings and
recommendations to the Governor in September
1989.

In October 1990, the Task Force to Review and
Evaluate the Delivery System of Services to the
Elderly was created by the Governor. The Task
Forte is iu rcLommend an organizational structure
for the system of services to the elderly that would
enable the State to best meet the needs of elderly
citizens. The Task Force will consider the roles,
responsibilities, and relationships of State and local
agencies that serve the elderly; structures to ensure
effective planning, budgeting, and coordinating of
services at the State and local levels; and respon-
sibilities, structure, and organizational placement of

In January 1991, the Governor's Task Force on
Eamily Law was created by the Governor (Executive
Order 01.01.1991.03.).The Task Farce is to study the
strengths and weaknesses of the current system of
family law, including the laws concerning marriage, the
dissolution of marriage, and domestic disputes. The
Task Farce will examine the economic effects of divorce
on the parties and their children; the frequency,
amount, and enforcement of awards of alimony; child
support awards, pymenc, and enforcement; the
economic effect of the marital property and other
family law statutes and case law on divorcing families;
and die personal, economic and social effect of the
current court system and support services.
A final report of the Task Force's findings and
recommendations is due December 1,1991.

The Governor originally appointed the State
Fleet Safety Committee in 1971 to establish a safety
program for Stare employees who drive State and
private moror vehicles on official State business.
The Governor reauthorized the Committee in 1985
(Executive Order 01.01.1985.21).
The Committee advises the Governor on the safe
operation and maintenance of the Stare's motor
vehicle fleet. This advisory role includes recommend-
ing changes in rules and regulations for use of State
agency motor vehicles. The Committee also coor-
dinates fleet safety activities by State agencies and
