At the request of the General Assembly, the
Governor established this commission in August
1983 (Joint Resolution nos. 1, 2, Acts of 1983).
The Commission studied ways to develop a State

and private cooperative effort to improve world
trade efforts in Maryland. It also evaluated the
State's role, under the federal Export Trading Act
of 1982, in creating, financing, and servicing
potential export trade companies and associations
in Maryland.

The Commission reported to the Governor in
December 1984.
