The Governor originally appointed this
special Commission in 1970 at the request
of the General Assembly. The Commission
is to study current state and local laws,
ordinances and regulations in the areas of
landlord-tenant law, and to formulate an
all-encompassing revision and consolidation
of Landlord-Tenant Law in Maryland The
Commission consists of members who have
an interest in or experience in landlord-
tenant problems (J. R. No. 46, Acts of
1970).

The Governor appointed this Commission
in 1976 to consider the remedy of certain
inconsistencies and deficiencies in the opera-
tion, implementation and administration of
the Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of
Rights. The Commission consists of the
Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.
the President of the Maryland Association
of Chiefs of Police, the Chief of a municipal
police department as designated by the Pres-
ident of the Maryland Municipal League,
three representatives of the Fraternal Order
of Police as designated by its President, a
member of a police community relations
committee, a member of the State Senate
as designated by the President and a mem-
ber of the House of Delegates as designated
by the Speaker. The Governor designates
the Chairman. The Commission is to report
in January of 1977 (Res. No. 33, Acts of
1976).

The Governor appointed this Committee
in 1975 at the request of the General As-
sembly to study the State retirement systems
to review its provisions for improvements in
benefits. The Committee consists of mem-
bers of the General Assembly and seven
persons appointed by the Governor. The
Committee is to report at a later date (Res.
No. 27, Acts of 1975). |
