The Governor appointed this Commis-
sion in 1976 at the request of the General
Assembly. The purpose of the Study is to
investigate the feasibility of building a nurs-
ing home for the aged on the grounds of
the Baltimore City Hospital. The Commis-
sion is to report its findings to the Governor,
the Mayor of Baltimore City and the Gen-
eral Assembly by January 1, 1977 (Res.
No. 14, Acts of 1976).

The Governor appointed this special com-
mission in 1965 at the request of the Gen-
eral Assembly to make a comprehensive
study and review of the criminal laws of the
State, criminal procedures and the adminis-
tration of criminal justice.
The Commission submitted its interim re-
port on October 16, 1971, to the Governor
and the Legislature. Volumes containing a
Report and Part 1 of a Proposed Criminal
Code (June, 1972) and a Report and Part
11 of a Proposed Criminal Code (Septem-
ber, 1973) were circulated among the |
Bench, Bar and interested public for study
and comment. The Commission then sub-
mitted a revised draft of a bill and com-
mentary, published as Legislative Council
Item No. 6-13 (November 25, 1974). The
draft is currently under study by committees
of the Legislature (J.R. No. 22, Acts of
1965).

The Governor appointed this Commission
in 1976 to undertake a complete study of
the constitutional, statutory and common
law concerning domestic relations. The
Commission consists of members of the
General Assembly, the Governor's staff,
and members of the Maryland Bar. The
Commission is to make an interim report
early in 1977 and continue its study.
