MARYLAND MANUAL 325
The Governor appointed this Special Study Commission in 1973 by
Executive Order to examine the problem of land use and to seek ways
to strike a balance between preserving land reserves and those areas
which need preservation and allowing an orderly planned growth and
development. The Commission consists of members of the General
Assembly, members of Boards of County Commissioners and County
Councils, Planning and Zoning officers, and members of the general
public concerned with the problem. The Commission is to present its
recommendations to the 1974 Session of the General Assembly.

The Governor appointed this special Commission in 1970 at the re-
quest of the General Assembly. The Commission is to study current
state and local laws, ordinances and regulations in the areas of land-
lord-tenant law, and to formulate an all-encompassing revision and
consolidation of Landlord-Tenant Law in Maryland. The Commission
consists of eighteen members, all of whom have an interest in or ex-
perience in landlord-tenant problems (J. R. No. 46, Acts of 1970).

The Governor appointed this Commission in 1972 at the request of
the General Assembly to study the advisability of establishing a State-
wide board of examiners and supervisors for master electricians and
to consider the issuance of licenses at the local level (Res. No. 76, Acts
of 1972).
