Alcoholic Beverages Division, State Office Building, Annapolis 21404 Telephone: 267-5311 The Governor appointed this special Committee in 1971 at the request of the General Assembly to study the alcoholic beverage laws to determine whether there should be established a State-wide system of alcoholic beverage control or uniformity throughout the State. The Committee consists of twenty-six members of whom six have not as yet been appointed. Of the original appointees, eight represent the House of Delegates and eight the State Senate, all of whom were appointed by the Speaker or the President. Of the remaining members, two represent the office of the Comptroller of the Treasury, and one each the distilling industry, the brewing industry, the wholesale beer distributing industry, the wholesale distributing industry, and four the retail alcoholic beverage industry all of whom were appointed by the Governor. The Committee is to report at a later date (House Resolution No. 153, 1971 Session). GOVERNOR'S COMMISSION TO STUDY THE NEEDS OF THE HANDICAPPED Temporary Chairman: Arthur Dorman George B. O'Toole. 11107 Montgomery Road Beltsville 20705 The Governor appointed this special Commission in 1971 at the request of the General Assembly to study the needs of the handicapped and to abolish the Governor's Interdepartmental Council and Advisory Committee on the Handicapped. The Commission is to review and re-examine the special programs and requirements of handicapped citizens. The Commission consists of representatives of the medical and teaching profes- sions, State and local administrative agencies, interested volun- tary organizations and members of the General Assembly.
