The Governor appointed this special Commission in 1970 at the request of the General Assembly. The Commission is to study current state and local laws, ordinances and regulations in the areas of landlord-tenant law, and to formulate an all-encompassing revision and consolidation of Landlord-Tenant Law in Maryland. The Commis- sion consists of eighteen members, all of whom have an interest in or experience in landlord-tenant problems (J. R. No. 46, Acts of 1970). NURSING HOME STUDY COMMISSION Chairman: Rev. Charles Street, Baltimore 21210 The Governor appointed this special Commission in 1971 to conduct an in-depth study of the operation of nursing homes in Maryland. The Commission is to investigate these homes to ascertain whether patients are receiving the kind of care they require and deserve. The Commission was created following the recommendation of a three- member task force appointed in 1970 to conduct an inquiry into the salmonella outbreak at a Baltimore nursing home. Box 348, Annapolis 21404 Telephone: 267-5561 The Governor appointed this special Commission in 1970 at the request of the General Assembly to study ways of improving nego- tiations between professional public school employees and the State and local governments. The Commission consists of seventeen mem- bers including members of the General Assembly, the Secretary of Personnel, the President of the Baltimore Teachers Union, representa- tives of local school systems, various colleges in the State, the Mary- land State Teachers Association and others. The Commission is con- tinuing its studies and has heard extensive testimony from profes- sional negotiators who have expressed the views of teacher organiza- tions and boards of education (Res.
