The Compact, which was recommended by the Interstate Advisory
Committee on the Susquehanna River Basin, will develop plans,
policies, and projects relating to the water resources conservation and
management in the Basin. The Commission will consist of the gover-
nor or his designee from each signatory state and one member to be
appointed by the President of the United States to serve at the
pleasure of the President. The Commission will provide for its own
organization and procedure and will each year elect its own Chairman
and Vice Chairman from among its members (Code 1967, 1964 Repl.
Vol., 1968 Supp., Art. 96A, sees. 59-74).

OF THE BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON CORRIDOR

This Committee was appointed in 1963 by the Governors of the
eight states in the Boston-Washington Corridor at the suggestion of
the President of the United States to plan for the transportation
facilities in the Corridor. The Committee is to meet from time to
time and to submit such recommendations and reports as may be
necessary.
NORTHEAST REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE

Service Commission.
The Northeast Regional Transportation Committee was created in
1967 for the purpose of assuring continued cooperation between the
Federal Government and the northeastern states with regard to high
speed ground transportation in the Northeast Corridor. The Com-
mittee, which is purely advisory, consists of the Governors or one
representative from the States of Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland,
New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Pennsyl-
vania, the Mayor Commissioner of Washington, D. C. or his repre-
sentative and the Secretary of the U, S, Department of Transporta-
tion or his representative. The Committee meets from time to time,
elects a Chairman and Secretary annually, and consults with interested
groups and agencies concerned with transportation in the Northeast
Corridor.
