Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 837-9000 The Advisory Council on Hospital Construction, originally estab- lished in 1947, had its membership enlarged by Chapter 866, Acts of 1965. The Council consists of twenty-four persons appointed by the Governor, including the Commissioner of the State Department of Mental Hygiene, and the Commissioner of Health of Baltimore City who serve for three-year terms (Code 1957, 1965 Supp., Art. 43, sec. 564). Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 837-9000 The Advisory Board on Hospital Licensing, originally established in 1945, consists of nine members appointed by the Governor for five- year terms (Chapter 866, Acts of 1965). The Board assists in the issuance or denial of licenses, the establishment of minimum regula- tions, and the approval of applications for hospital construction (Code 1957, 1965 Supp., Art. 43, sec. 564). Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 837-9000 The Air Pollution Control Council, established by Chapter 806, Acts of 1963, consists of five members appointed by the Governor for five- year terms, one term expiring each year. The Council formulates and recommends to the State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene rules and regulations for the control of air pollution, at the request of the Board or the Commissioner of Health. The Council also reviews the policies and programs of the Board with respect to air pollution and consults with and advises the Board on matters relating to air pollu- tion (Code 1957, 1965 Supp., Art 43, sees. 690-706). |
