State House, Annapolis 21404 Telephone: Colonial 3-2666 The State Board of Canvassers was created by Chapter 739, Acts of 1957. It meets thirty days after any State election to tabulate the votes cast for each candidate from the certified statements of votes made by the city and county boards of canvassers. The Board declares who is elected and delivers a certificate of election to the Secretary of State. He issues the proclamation of election, keeps the records of the Board, and delivers a copy to the Governor who issues a com- mission to the persons elected (Code 1957, Art. 33, sees. 142-143). The Commission is to report to the Governor and the General Assembly at a later date (J. R. No. 21, Acts of 1965).
