drews, Superintendent; established 1863; elementary and secon-
dary education for blind students of Maryland, Delaware and
District of Columbia; elementary and secondary education of
Negro deaf or blind students. Appropriations: 1963, $219,949;
1954, $253,045.

CARDINAL GIBBONS INSTITUTE, Ridge; Rev. Horace B. Mc-
Kenna, S.J., Superintendent; established 1924; academic, voca-
tional agriculture, home economics, for boys and girls; rural
cooperatives, evening courses for adults. Appropriations: 1953,
$2,000; 1964, $2,000.

MARYLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 201 W. Monument Street,
Baltimore; George W. Radcliffe, President; James W. Foster,
Director; museum, historical documents and manuscripts, library.
Appropriations: Publication of Archives, 1953, $5,500; 1954,
$5,500; Compilation of Maryland War Records and other papers,

PENINSULAR HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY, Salisbury; W. Lee
Allen, Secretary-Treasurer; advancement of horticulture and agri-
culture on the Delmarva Peninsula. Appropriations: 1953, $500;
1954, $500.

BALTIMORE ASSOCIATION OF COMMERCE, 22 Light Street,
Baltimore; the appropriation by the State is for the promotion
of the port and industry of Baltimore City and to the Maryland
Development Bureau of the Association for the same purpose
throughout the State. Appropriation: 1953, $21,250; 1954, $21,250.

MARYLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, 10 N. Calvert Street,
Baltimore; Charles E. Wise, Secretary; the society was incor-
porated in 1916. It provides for the unification and coordination
of related agricultural and horticultural societies throughout the
State. "The funds appropriated are for the publication of the
Society's annual transactions. Appropriations: 1953, $2,500-
1954, $2,500.

MARYLAND ACADEMY OF SCIENCE, 401 Cathedral Street, Balti-
more. The Academy was established for the purpose of promot-
ing an interest in science and the dissemination of scientific
information. Appropriation: 1953, $2,000; 1954, $2,000.

MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION. The funds appro-
priated are the State's share of the pension fund for disabled
firemen or for widows and children of deceased firemen (Acts
1935, ch. 260). Appropriation: 1953, $20,000; 1954, $20,000.
