The Governor's Committee on Records was established in April
1962 to act as a liaison between the State and the private firm which
had been retained to survey and study the record keeping practices
of the State government. Upon the conclusion of the survey, the
acceptance of the survey firm's reports and the passage of legislation
implementing the recommendations, the committee was disbanded in
March 1963.

The State Art Committee was appointed by Governor McKeldin,
January 27, 1963. The Committee is to supervise the display of the
State-owned works of art and to make recommendations for the
preservation of those treasures in the State House and other State
buildings.

This Commission was authorized by the General Assembly of 1953.
Its purpose is to study the various problems which have arisen since
the completion of the Savage River Dam, the authority of the agency
which will direct the operations of the dam and the source of funds
for that agency. The Commission will report its findings to the
Legislative Council (1953, J. R. 6).
