American Legion. Former teacher of agriculture. Served in the U. S.
Navy 1941-1946. Unmarried. Elected to the House of Delegates in
1950.

DONALD E. Six, Republican, Carroll County; born at Keysville,
Maryland, June 14, 1914. Attended Carroll County public schools
and Strayer-Bryant-Stratton College at Baltimore. Retail grain,
lumber, and coal. Married. Appointed to the House of Delegates
in 1947.

ALBERT L. SKLAR, Democrat, Baltimore 4th; born at Baltimore,
December 18, 1911. Attended the public schools of Baltimore City,
Baltimore City College, and the University of Baltimore, gradu-
ating in 1932. Admitted to the Bar the same year. Member of the
Tax Revision Commission of Maryland 1939-1941; the Maryland Com-
mission on Post War Reconstruction and Development 1943-1947;
Baltimore Bar Association; State Bar Association; American Bar
Association. Married. Elected to the House of Delegates in 1938.

CARROLL C. SMITH, Republican, Carroll County; born July 14, 1904,
at Greenmount, Maryland. Attended Carroll County public schools.
In the meat packing business. Married. Elected to the House of
Delegates in 1946.

MAURICE J. SOYPHER, Democrat, Baltimore 4th; born in Baltimore,
February 17, 1911. Attended Baltimore public schools and the Uni-
versity of Baltimore. Attorney. Member of the Maryland Bar, J.W.V.,
Lawyers' Civic Association. Served with the U. S. Army 1943-1946.
Married. Elected to the House of Delegates in 1950.

UPSHUR C. STEVENSON, Democrat, Talbot County; born in Oxford,
November 16, 1902. Attended public school in Oxford, Pierce School
of Business Administration and the University of Alabama. In the
contracting business. Member of Lions and Isaac Walton League.
Married. Elected to the House of Delegates in 1950.

JOHN HERGET STIEFF, Democrat, Anne Arundel County; born in
Baltimore, February 20, 1913. Attended public schools of Anne Arun-
del and Baltimore Counties and Baltimore College of Commerce. Gar-
age owner. Member of the Moose. Married. Elected to the House of
Delegates in 1950.

J. ELLIS TAWES, Democrat, Somerset County; born in Crisfield,
April 10, 1899. Attended the public schools of Crisfield. Merchant.
Member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Elks. Served in the
U. S. Army 1917-1919. Married. Elected to the House of Delegates
in 1950.

CHESTER W. TAWNEY, Democrat, Baltimore 3rd; born at Havre de
Grace, Maryland, July 10, 1907. Attended the public schools of
Havre de Grace and the University of Maryland, graduating in 1931.
President of small loan company. Married. Appointed to the House
of Delegates in 1947.

HARRY E. TAYLOR, JR., Republican, Prince George's County; born
in Honolulu, T.H., December 14, 1921. Attended the public schools
of Honolulu, the University of Hawaii, Sacramento Junior College
