VACANCIES in the Orphans' Courts, offices of Justice*
of the Peace and Sheriff shall be filled by the Governor,
subject to the confirmation or rejection by the Senate.
Art. IV, Sec. 40, 43,44, Const.
ELECTIONS FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL.shall be certified
the Governor who shall decide questions of election
and qualification, and, in case of a tie, shall designate
which shall qualify, and he shall fill all vacancies in
said office. Art. V, Sec. 2 and 5, Const.
VACANCIES IN THE OFFICES OF TREASURER AND
COMPTROLLER shall be filled by the Governor, by and with
the advice of the Senate. Art. VI, Sec. I, Const.
THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR has to be obtained of
the banks selected by the Treasurer in which to keep the
State funds, and the banks must give such security as the
Governor may require. Art. VI, Sec. 3, Const.
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS is composed of the Gov-
ernor, Treasurer and Comptroller. Art. XII, Sec. I, Const.
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS to the Constitution are to be
published by the Governor, and on their adoption he is
to so declare by proclamation. Art. XIV, Sec. I, Const.
THE OFFICE OF ANY OFFICER who shall fail to pay into
the State Treasury within thirty days of the expiration
of each year, excess of fees and money due him, shall.
be declared vacant by the Governor. Art. XV, See. I,
Const.
IN CASES OF TIE in election of State officers, except
those otherwise provided for, the Governor shall issue
certificates for a new election. Art. XV, Sec. 4, Const.
OFFICERS ELATED OR APPOINTED under the Constitution.
may qualify before the Governor, or any Clerk of any
Court of Records. Art. X„V, Sec. 10, Const.
ALL PUBLIC OMMISIONS AND GRANTS shall be signed by
the Governor, with the Seal of the State annexed. Alt.
IV, Sec. 13, Const.
THE GOVERNOR SHALL TAKE AND SUBSCRIBE TO THE OATH
OF OFFICE on the second Wednesday of January next
ensuing his election, or, as soon thereafter as may be
practicable, between the hours of 12 M.,and 2, P. M„ in
the Senate Chamber before the Chief Justice of the
Court of Appeals, or in case of his inability to attend,
before one of the Associate Justices of the Court. Art
