Warrants.    CHAP. CLXXVIII.  V. 125.

Warrant' custodi Gaolæ, ad recipiend' Prisonatium pro Felonia.

    EDwardus Peyton Miles & Baronettus, unus Justic' Domini Regis nunc
ad Pacem in Com' pred' conservand' necnon ad diverf. Felon' Transgr' &
alia malefact' in eod' Com' audiend' & terminand' assign' custodi Gaolæ dict'
Dom' Regis in Com' pred' aut ejus locum tenenti & eor' cuilibet salut.  Quia
R. F. nuper de I. in Com' pred' Labourer, jam pro suspicione cujusd' Felon'
per ipsum (ut dicitus) perpetrat' per Constab' Villæ de
R. in Com' pred' arrestat.
Ideo ex parte dicti Dom' Regis vobis & cuilibet vestrium præcipio, quod
ipsum
R. in custod' vestram recipiatis, seu unus vestrum recipiat, ibid' moratur'
quousq; secund' Legem & consuetudunem Regni
Angliæ a custod' vestra
deliberetur.  Dat. apud

Alias.

    I. D. &c. to the Keeper of the Kings Majesties Gaol at the Castle of/
Cambridge, or to his Deputy there, Greeting:  These are in his Majesties
Name to charge and command you, that you receive into your said gaol
the Body of R. S. late of, &c. taken by F. C. and I. S. Constables of the
Town of W. and by them brought before me for suspition of Felony, &c.
and that you safely keep the said R. S. in your said Gaol until the next general
Gaol-delivery for the said County, [if he be not bailable; or if he
be bailable, then thus] until he shall thence be delivered by due order
of his Majesties Laws.  And hereof fail you not, &c.
 

A Mittimus of a Felon after his Examination taken.

    JOhn Cotton Knight, one of the Justices, &c. to the Keeper of his Majesties
Gaol at the Castle of Cambridge in the said County, &c.  Greeting.
I send you herewithal the Body of A. B. late of C. Labourer,
bought before me this present day, and charged with the Felonious taking
of twenty Sheep, (which also he hath * confessed upon his Examination
before me:)  and therefore these are (on the behalf of our said
Sovereign Lord) to command you, that immediately you receive the said
A. B. and him safely keep in your said Gaol, until that he shall be thence
delivered by the due order of his Majesties Laws.  Hereof fail you not,
as you will answer for your contempt at your peril.  Given at Chevely the
first day of December in the 20 year of the Reign of our said Sovereign
Lord Charles, by the Grace of God, King of England, Scotland, France
and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, &c.

    Or these Warrants or Mittimus, whereby a Prisoner shall be sent to the
Gaol, may be made in the Kings Name, and the Teste may be made under
the name of the Justice of Peace as followeth.
 

    CAROLUS Dei grat' Rex Angl', &c.  Cust' Gaolæ nostræ de Cantabl.
vel ejus locum tenenti salut.  Quia R. S. nuper de B. in Com' Essex Labourer,
jam pro suspic' cujusdam Feloniæ per ipsum, ut dicitur, perpetrat'
arrest.  Ideo vobis & cuilibet vestr' præcipimus, quod ipsum
R. in custod. vestram
