94 MARYLAND MANUAL. authorized the Board to construct a bridge across the Chesapeake Bay, including the approaches thereto, with power to maintain and operate said bridge and charge tolls for the use thereof, as well as to maintain and operate a ferry across the Chesapeake Bay and to charge tolls for the use of same. For the purpose of securing funds to construct a bridge, the Board is authorized to issue bridge bonds not exceeding $10,000,000, and for the purpose of purchasing the Annapolis-Claiborne Ferry, to issue ferry bonds not to exceed $1,200,000. For the purpose of constructing approaches to the bridge, the Board is also authorized to issue bridge approach bonds not to exceed $520,000. The Act also authorizes the State Roads Commission to assist the said Chesapeake Bay Authority and, under certain circumstances, to exercise its general powers. STATE SURVEY COMMISSION. (Chapter 564, Acts of 1935.) Office—701-2 Union Trust Bldg. Secretary—Lester H. Crowther. (Terms Expire 1936.) The Commission shall consist of three members appointed by the Governor who shall serve for such salaries as the Governor may de- termine, or without salaries, if he shall so determine. The Commis- sion is to inquire into the method of disbursement and distribution of relief funds and supplies throughout the State and to inquire into the operations and functions of the various State Departments for the purpose of eliminating waste or unnecessary expenditure. Ap- propriation available for said Commission $50,000, appropriated in the Budget for the fiscal years 1936-1937. The Commission shall submit a detailed report with findings and all facts, pertinent to the subjects of the survey, with recommenda- tions to the Governor, and to the General Assembly, at the next regular session of the General Assembly, and at any special session of the General Assembly, if the Commission shall have concluded its find- ings. The Commission is further required to submit a draft of such acts as may be proposed to carry out its recommendations. The Commission consists of: J. Cookman Boyd, as Chairman, residing in Baltimore; Isaac Lobe Straus, residing in Baltimore County; Joseph Allison Wilmer, residing in Charles County.
