thence by and with the Swangut Creek to the line of the State
of .Virginia.

101. All persons residing on the Worcester side of the public
road, dividing the counties of Somerset and Worcester, or within
one mile of said road, and not on any other public road between
the southern boundary of the State of Delaware and Humphrey's
mill-pond, in the town of Salisbury, may perform such'road labor
on said road as may be due by them on any other road in
Worcester county.

SCHOOLS.

102. The county commissioners of Worcester county shall be
commissioners of the school fund for said county.

103. The Treasurer of Maryland shall pay to the order of
said commissioners the proportion of the school fund belonging
to said county.

104. They may appoint an agent to receive said fund, and
may require of him such security for the performance of his
duties as they think necessary, and may allow him a fair com-
pensation.

105. They shall annually, at their first meeting after the first
day of April, appoint five discreet, sensible men of said county,
who shall constitute a board of primary education in Worcester
county.

106. The said board may appoint a clerk, and may allow him
such compensation as they think proper, to be paid out of the
school fund.

107. Each member of said board shall be entitled to two
dollars a day while engaged in the discharge of his duties, to be
paid out of the school fund.

108. The said board shall, on the first Tuesday in May in
each year, appoint a trustee for each school district in the
county, and the said trustees shall cause an election to be held
in their respective school districts on the last Monday in June
annually, to elect four other trustees for the said school district,
and report the result of such election to said board of primary
education on or before the fifteenth day of July following.
