948 WORCESTER COUNTY. [ART. 22.

district number two, two justices of the peace and two consta-
bles; for election district number three, three justices of the peace
and two constables; for election district number four, three jus-
tices of the peace and two constables; for election district number
five, two justices of the peace and one constable; for election
district number six, two justices of the peace and one constable;

for election district number seven, two justices of the peace and
one constable; for election district number eight, two justices of
the peace and one constable; for election district number nine,
two justices of the peace and one constable; for election district
number ten, two justices of the peace and one constable.

56. All constables in said county shall be entitled to receive six
and a quarter cents a mile for each mile travelled in going to
deliver over to the jailer of said county any person committed
to said jail.

57. Whenever any constable in said county shall find it neces-
sary to summon any person to assist him in taking any prisoner
to jail, he shall summon a constable, if there is one convenient,
and the'person summoned shall be entitled to fifty cents as a
compensation for his services.

NAVIGATION.

58. All weirs and trees in Dividing Creek anywhere below
where the tide is known to run, which stop the passage of scows
or timber, shall be deemed nuisances, and may be taken out and
destroyed as such by any person.

59. No person shall place or make any weir, or fell any tree
across or in said creek where the tide is known to run flood,
under the penalty of twenty-five dollars, to be recovered before
any justice of the peace of the county in which the offence may
have been committed, one-half to the informer or person who will
sue for or prosecute the same with effect, the other half to the
use of the county, to be applied towards the improvement of the
navigation of said creek.

60. No person shall unload or throw out the ballast of any boat
or vessel in the navigable rivers or creeks in said county, or make
or keep any weirs or hedges in said rivers or creeks so as to
injure or obstruct the navigation thereof.
