908 WASHINGTON COUNTY. [ART. 21.

for every twenty-four hours the same may have been impounded;

Provided, that when any geese or swine are impounded, they
shall be advertised by notice set up at two taverns in the said
town.

INSPECTIONS—FLOUR.

163. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of th<
Senate, shall biennially, on the first Monday of April, appoint an
inspector of flour for Williamsport, in Washington county.

164. The said inspector may appoint one deputy, who shall hold
his office during the pleasure of the principal inspector.

165. The standard of flour of each degree of fineness shall be
the same as the standard fixed for the city of Baltimore.

166. The inspector general of flour in the city of Baltimore,
within fifteen days after the standard is fixed in said city, shall
send to the inspector of the town of Williamsport a fair specimen
of the standard and samples of flour, to be kept by the inspector
at Williamsport, under the penalty of fifty dollars for every re-
fusal or neglect, to be recovered before a justice of the peace,
one-half to the use of the informer, the other half to the use of
the State.

167. The inspector of the town of Williamsport shall, on the
head or side of every cask of flour inspected by him, brand his
name, the name of the town and State, the year of inspection,
and the quality or grade of flour inspected.

168. He shall receive from the owner of flour by him inspected,
the sum of one cent and a half, and no more, for each cask of
flour he shall inspect and brand.

169. In all cases where an inspector may pronounce a flour
barrel insufficient, or shall condemn said barrel, the owner of
such barrel, or his agent, may either cause said barrel to be re-
paired or substitute a new one as the case may require, or he may
make such deduction in the price of his flour, as may be mutually
agreed upon between himself and the purchaser thereof.

170. No inspector of flour shall purchase, directly or indi-
rectly, any flour by him condemned, or any flour whatsoever
