or before the first Monday of June in each year, and his official
bond shall be liable for the prompt payment thereof.

PRINCESS ANNE.

102. The inhabitants of the town of Princess Anne, in Somer-
set county, are a body corporate, by the name of " The Commis-
sioners of .Princess Anne," and by that name may sue and be
sued, and have and use a common seal.

103. The number of commissioners of Princess Anne shall be
five, and each commissioner shall hold his office for five years,
and the term of the oldest in time of service of said commis-
sioners shall expire on the fourth Monday in March in each
year,

104. The free male white housekeepers or beads of families
residing in said town or precincts, and such persons holding
real property therein, shall, on the fourth Monday in March,
annually, at the court-house in said town, elect, by ballot, one
person, residing in said town or precincts, a commissioner in
the place of the commissioner whose term of office has expired.

105. The commissioners of said town, or a majority of them,
shall be judges of such election, and the proceedings thereof
shall be recorded under their direction; and every commis-
sioner, before he shall act as a judge of election, shall make
oath that he will faithfully and impartially permit every person
to vote at such election- who shall be qualified to vote for a
commissioner of said town, and that he will not suffer any
person to vote who shall not in his judgment be qualified to
vote.

106. If any vacancy shall happen in the office of one or more
of the commissioners by death, resignation, removal or other-
wise, the remaining commissioners shall cause an election to be
made by the persons qualified to vote for said commissioners to
supply such vacancy, and shall give ten days' previous notice of
the time of such election.

107. Every commissioner, before entering upon the duties of
his office, shall make oath before a justice of the peace that he
will diligently and faithfully, according to the best of his judg-
ment, perform the duties of a commissioner of said town, without
