JUSTICES OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES.

69. There shall be the following number of justices of the
peace and constables for said county, to wit; For election dis-
trict number one, four justices of the peace and two constables;

for election district number two, four justices of the peace and
two constables; for election district number three, four justices
of the peace and two constables; for election district number
four, four justices of the peace and two constables; for election
district number five, four justices of the peace and two consta-
bles; for election district number six, four justices of the peace
and two constables; for election district number seven, four jus-
tices of the peace and two constables; for election district num-
ber eight, four justices of the peace and two constables; for elec-
tion district number nine, two justices of the peace and two
constables.

70. The several constables within said county shall receive the
following fees : for serving all summons and return, fifty cents;

for levying fieri facias and return, fifty cents; for dispersing tu-
multuous meetings of negroes, per year, such sum as the county
commissioners may think proper to allow, not exceeding twenty-
five dollars.

LUMBEB INSPECTION.

71. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Senate, shall biennially appoint an inspector of lumber at Bristol,
in,Anne Arundel county, and Clagett's Landing, Queen Anne,
Mount Calvert, Green Landing and Wapping, in Prince George's
county; whose duty it shall be to inspect all lumber that shall
be brought to said places for sale.

72. The said inspector shall be entitled to demand and receive,
as compensation for his services, twenty-five cents for every
thousand feet, board measure, and twenty-five cents per thou-
sand for all shingles he shall inspect, exclusive of all expenses of
labor.

73. If any person shall bring lumber for sale to either of the
places mentioned in the 71st section of this article, and shall
refuse to have it inspected by said inspector when called upon
for such purpose, he shall forfeit the sum of fifty dollars for each
refusal, recoverable before any justice of the peace for Prince
