the house of Margaret Warren on the Frederick fioad, thence to
the beginning. The commissioners hereafter to be elected may
make such alterations in the said limits as they may deem
advisable, and cause the same to be surveyed, and the boundaries
thereof to be established, and a record thereof to be filed
amongst the records of the corporation.

55*. The citizens of the town, having resided therein twelve
months previous to any election, shall on the first Monday in
May next, and annually thereafter, on the same day, elect three
commissioners for Rockville, to serve for one year from the date
of their election and until their successors are elected and quali-
fied. The commissioners must be substantial citizens, residents
in said corporate limits, and must have resided therein for at
least five years next preceding their election, and continue to do
so during their continuance in office. They shall receive no pay
for their services, except the president, who shall receive fees
hereinafter allowed.

56*. The person receiving the highest number of votes shall
be the president of the commissioners; and all vacancies in the
commissioners shall be filled by an election held after ten days'
notice given by the remaining commissioners.

57*. The commissioners shall meet at some convenient place
in said town, on, or before the first Monday in June next suc-
ceeding their election, and as often thereafter as may be neces-
sary to discharge the duties of their office.

W*. The commissioners shall annually, on or before the first
Monday in April, appoint two judges of elections, who shall
appoint one clerk, and the judges shall conduct the elections
according to the election laws of the State, but opening the polls,
at some convenient place, at -ten o'clock in the morning, and
closing the same at four o'clock in the afternoon; and the judges
and clerk shall make their returns to the commissioners, and
shall each receive two dollars a day for their services. The first
election shall be held before Samuel C. Viers and Lawrence
Lyddane, who are appointed judges for that purpose.

59*. The commissioners shall annually appoint a clerk, who shall
keep minutes of their proceedings in a well bound book, which
shall be open to the inspection of all persons interested therein,
